Mac ‒ like a chameleon!

Both the modern, minimalist interiors, where steel and glass prevail as finishing materials, and the traditional, more cosy ones, with a lot of natural wood and fabrics. This is possible that thanks to the very rich selection of upholstery types: from neutral colours, such as white and grey, through to vivid, bright ones that dominate the interior ‒ like shades of red.
The WertelOberfell studio, www.platform-net.com, was established in 2007 by Gernot Oberfell (1975) and Jan Wertel (1976).
Both of them studied Industrial Design at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design, a school based on the principles of the Ulmer Schule and Bauhaus. The studio has been located in London and Munich. At the time, they both worked for the Ross Lovegrove Studio for several years.
The scope of their design work is very broad. They have worked for brands such as Sony, Yamagiwa, MGX by Materialise, Iker, BN Office Solution, DuPont Corian, and others.Some of their works have been exhibited in museums across the world and are part of permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
Jan and Gernot’s work is a combination of logic and the perfection of organic forms. They make optimum use of the qualities of materials, production processes, and ergonomics.
connected with the IKER brand since the very beginning, is the author of most of the company’s products. He actively participates in the process of creation and production of each piece of furniture ‒ from the initial sketches through to prototypes, which gives him complete control over the final result. Marek Gawlik’s best-known pieces of furniture include: the DUDEK, TEMPEST, and BOXX sofas, the GIL chaise longue, the FLAMING set, and the MAC lounge chair. Over the years, the timeless seats he created have received numerous awards in the prestigious Dobry Wzór (Good Design) competition organised by the Institute of Industrial Design.
Michał Biernacki was born in 1973, graduated from Painting Faculty of University of Silesia at its branch in Cieszyn.
In 2003 he founded his own design studio Biart, designing for such Polish brands as: Zelmer, Krakowska Fabryka Armatur, AquaForm, IKER, Nowy Styl. He is also a co-founder Moho Design company.
